Review: Nokia X Android Phone
Nokia are working under Microsoft and they are competing in the smart phone world with their Windows Phones. But their Windows Phones haven’t proved to be a big hit with the users. People still like using Android phones and for that they use the Samsung, HTC and Sony devices. Nokia should had considered making Android devices a long time ago and now they have choose to make an Android device. Nokia announced their X device which would be running the Android OS. This phone is a little different from the mainstream Android devices.
The Nokia X features a Window Phone-like launcher. This Android device is also capable of offering Microsoft services. This device will cost you $120. A lot of people think that it is a low end device because of its price. We wouldn’t call it a low end device rather it is somewhat better than those devices. It has many unique features which makes it a little better than them. This is Dual SIM phone, so people who need to have two SIMS at the same time can buy this phone and will find it very pleasing.
The device has a design which is similar to a lot of Nokia’s devices. One can easily mistake it for the Nokia’s Asha 500 phone. The device has square corners, straight edges, a large bezel and removable plastic back cover with a matte finish. The device will come in blue, black, yellow, red, green and white colors. The backside of the phone is very smooth and the speakers can be found on the bottom of the back. There is a volume rocker and a power button on the right side of the phone. There is a USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone doesn’t have many buttons on it. There is only one button on the front of the device.
The phone runs the Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon S4 Play. The processor is a Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A5. The phone has accelerometer and proximity sensors. It has a 1500mAh battery (BN-01).
It has a 4inch screen and is rather thick device. Nokia also has plans to come out with a 5inch device and the name of the device will be the Nokia XL. The Nokia X has a WVGA display. The phone has a resolution of 480×800. The pixel density would be 233(ppi). The colors are unsaturated and we can see a lot of light coming out of the sides of the phone. It has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16m colors. Multi touch is only up to two fingers.
The phone also doesn’t have a front camera and the back camera is only 3.2megapixel with no LED flash. It has the panorama and face detection features. It can make videos at 480p at 30fps.
The phone has an internal memory of 4GB and has 512RAM. You can use a microSD card to upgrade the memory up to 32GB.
So basically its a great step by the Finnish giant in the tech markets to spill the beans and enter the Android domain. A good clean and useful phone that’s a must buy for all those who are fans of Nokia and the Mountain View’s OS.
