Communication skills are the vital part of your life, and you would certainly like to be the best in this regard to impress others. Vocabulary is the essential element of the communication skills that define your range of expressing ideas. Every day the span of words in English language is increasing, and it is virtually impossible to master the whole language. Once you Google the sources of improving your vocabulary, you will find many sophisticated software for this purpose. But you can’t carry PC with you everywhere. You need to have some smartphone app that would serve this purpose. You must have a look at GRE Vocab Lock that will provide you the opportunity to learn a new word every time you look at your phone for unlocking it. It contains a comprehensive dictionary that is specially designed for Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and SAT students. It is quite helpful for anyone who wants to improve his vocab.
The interface of the GRE Voacb Lock may not appear to be quite aesthetically pleasing but it certainly serves the purpose for you. When you launch it, it keeps running in the background, and pops up only when you unlock your phone. It will provide you with a word and two possible synonyms for it. You need to slide it to the right option to unlock your phone.
Even when you provide the wrong answer, the phone will be unlocked at that time, but you will be presented with that same word at some later time. You can also drag the word to the‘d’ button present at the top to reveal the possible definition of the word. The correct answer is colored as Green, while the wrong one is colored as Red.
The Settings screen of the app allows you to specify the number of words to be presented before you every day. It also shows the words you have already learnt.
There are two versions of the GRE Vocab Lock: the free and the paid version. The best thing about the free version is that it doesn’t offer you any kind of advertisements. However, it carries the limitation of providing up to 20 words per day for learning. There is an in-app purchase that could increase the word limit to 50 words per day that costs just a buck.
